Dancing salsa

What is salsa?

Salsa is a form of social dance and has become a very popular one nowadays. It has influences from Latin America (Puerto Rico, Cuba and Columbia) but firstly appeared in Cuba. Anyhow, because of the delicate social-political situation at that time, many Cubans fled to New York, where they set the base of salsa. Its movements origin from Son, Cha cha cha, Mambo and other latin dance forms. The music, however, is said to be originated in New York in the late 1970s.

Salsa is also being known as the spicy sauce. But what is actually the link between them? Well, it is being known that salsa is the dance of death. People would put so much effort, heat up the dance floor and dance for so long, till their death. This happens the same with people that eat spicy food or sauce (like salsa), they heat up and often feel like they’re about to “die” because of the spicy taste.
