Local government to ban beer bikes in Amsterdam - But Fun Amsterdam has a solution

After a year of improving the beer bike rides, making them less noisy, improving routes & training drivers and drastic other improvement that resulted in more then a 50% reduction in complaint, compared to the last years. Amsterdam council will meet in March 2016 to try and enforce a new law to ban pedal powered “group bikes” with more than 4 persons, from the center of Amsterdam.  Regardless of the fact that according to government checks in 2015, a total of only 24 complaints were registered.

The beer bikes have become loved by many visiting tourists who want an alternative way to view Amsterdam, enjoy a day out and take in the scenery.

Beer bikes have been driving in Amsterdam for the past 17 years, there are 4 companies who offer them, with at least 2 to 7 bikes per company. Due to this ban many people will loose their jobs,  marketing, rental and investment contracts will be terminated, and some companies will probably go under.

Yes we do have a solution. However, it will not be able to save the industry, or will it ?

Bike building Amsterdam is one of the most upcoming projects in the US and is also one of the most popular philanthropic team building programs. It not only helps the teams to develop their social skills and learn how to cooperate and help each other, it will also helps children in need. In the end, this is one of the most joyful moments – to see the smiles on the children’s faces.

Okay, what will I do?

The activity consists in two parts; the first part is engaging your team into solving a quiz or some questions, while the second part is the actual bike building. After the bikes are completed, they will be revised by a specialist, and the first team to finish will be rewarded. At the end, if there is still time left, the kids will also do a mini parade presenting the newly built bikes.

One of the most affectionate memories from your childhood must be the one when you received your first bike. You probably spent all your time outside with your friends doing bike races or going into the woods for a sunday family activity.

According to UNICEF, Dutch kids are ranked as the most happiest kids in the world. However, the Netherlands is mentioned as one of the countries in Europe with a medium rate of child poverty. We are trying to bring this concept of “bike building for charity” to Europe and encourage people to take part in this action. The country is well known for its frenzy of bicycles. What is the Escape Room Amsterdam?

The Escape Room concept is nearly a new one and has proven to be a success worldwide. There are now over 2,800 Escape Rooms and they are still growing and expanding every year.

Many of you have heard about it but not many know what it is actually about. The games are based on a video game in which a player is locked inside a room. The player must now check the surroundings and escape the room. For the real life escape rooms, the same rules apply. The individual is locked inside a room with other participants (mostly friends or family) and must solve puzzles and find clues within a limited range of time.

What is it about?

The challenges and puzzles have been inspired by Agatha Christie, the famous crime novel author, and the games are a type of physical adventure entertainment. You can become the next Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple. The set time for each room is one hour. You can also finish sooner and escape the room if you have all clues and puzzles solved.

Every room has a different plot and you must expect to find clues according to the subject. Some of the popular themes are zombies, find the rabbit (Alice in Wonderland), trapped kids inside their dreams, the abandoned hospital, the lost harbour, the killer and so on.

The escape room is a perfect activity for team building or groups that are willing to work together to achieve a main goal – escape on time. This type of activity lets you act as a detective and puts your attention to be set on each object.
